Book Week Celebration (November 20-28)
“Image Improv: Picture your story”
Objectives: Aim to sharpen and expand the contestant’s creativity by making them make the most out of a single picture, each participant will have to brainstorm and pitch their ideas if they want a shot at winning. Truly showcasing their imagination.
Guidelines and Mechanics:
- The contest is open to all bona fide HFA Grade 7 students.
- Each section must select 2 representatives.
- The Librarian will provide a photo before the contest date to give them some time to come up with their own story.
- The story must be at least three to five paragraphs long.
- The tale/story must be relevant to the image provided.
- Peeking on other sections’ narratives is prohibited and may result in disqualification.
- The grammar and spelling must be correct.
- The story must comprise five story elements: characters, setting, plot, conflict, and theme.
- The contest will be held on November 25, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00m. at the IMC.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
The criteria for judging will be as follows:
Creativity/Originality |
The design is unique and opens new perspectives about the picture. |
Content and Structure |
The design is properly aligned with the themes, characters, and message of the book.

Grammar and Spelling |
The design is the proper use of appropriate words and correct spelling.
