“Image Improv: Picture your story”

 

Objectives: Aim to sharpen and expand the contestant’s creativity by making them make the most out of a single picture, each participant will have to brainstorm and pitch their ideas if they want a shot at winning. Truly showcasing their imagination.

 

Guidelines and Mechanics: 

 

  1. The contest is open to all bona fide HFA Grade 7 students.
  2. Each section must select 2 representatives.
  3. The Librarian will provide a photo before the contest date to give them some time to come up with their own story.
  4. The story must be at least three to five paragraphs long.
  5. The tale/story must be relevant to the image provided.
  6. Peeking on other sections’ narratives is prohibited and may result in disqualification.
  7. The grammar and spelling must be correct.
  8. The story must comprise five story elements: characters, setting, plot, conflict, and theme.
  9. The contest will be held on November 25, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00m. at the IMC.

 

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING: 

The criteria for judging will be as follows: 

Creativity/Originality

The design is unique and opens new perspectives about the picture. 

Content and Structure

The design is properly aligned with the themes, characters, and message of the book. 

 

Grammar and Spelling

The design is the proper use of appropriate words and correct spelling.
