Abstract
Self-esteem plays an important role in one's self. It can influence life in myriad ways, from academic and professional success to relationships and mental health. Self-esteem and academic performance are interrelated factors. There's a study that found a relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement in the students. Those with higher academic achievement experience higher self-esteem. In Holy Family Academy, there has been a dilemma wherein self-esteem can affect the academic performance of Senior High School students. Thus, the researchers have conducted this study to gather solutions to the problem. The current study aims to assess the view of senior high school students on the impact of self-esteem on academic performances and to identify if the views of senior high school students have a potential impact on their self-esteem. This research made use of phenomenology as a design for the study. The questionnaire was made and constructed by the researchers. The respondents of our study are the 15 students from the Senior High School Department of Holy Family Academy. The findings of this study proved that self-esteem has an impact on the academic performance of students which is determined by the students' views. The personal experiences of students provide proof of how they assess themselves with the impact of their self-esteem on their academic performance.
