Title
The Factors that Affect the Sleeping Patterns towards Academic Performance of Senior High Students in Holy Family Academy
Abstract
Sleep pattern, also known as the sleep-wake pattern, is one of the body's circadian rhythms. It habitually follows a 24-hours cycle, managing the body's schedule for sleeping and waking. Sleeping is a necessity for both the body and brain, it is when important body functions and brain functions occur. In Holy Family Academy, students have been losing sleep due to various activities and it has been affecting their academic performances. From this problem, the current research serves as a response to the issue. The study aims to analyze the factors that affect the sleeping pattern and how these factors influence the senior high students academically. The study follows a phenomenology design, a study of structures of consciousness encountered from the first-person point of view. The respondents of the study are the Senior High Students of Holy Family Academy. As a result of the data gathered and analyzed, the study proved that school works are the main contributors to sleep loss among students. These factors greatly affect the students' behavior in class, they tend to fall asleep when classes are going. Students feel absent-minded, and they lack the energy to stay focused.
