Title
The Factors that Affect the Sleep Deprivation of Grade 12 STEM Students in School
Abstract
Insufficient sleep has serious adverse effects on students' performance in high school. This study investigates the factors influencing sleep deprivation among STEM students in grade 12. It explores the biological, psychological, and academic aspects of sleep deprivation's impact, drawing on previously published research. Findings show that students face psychological difficulties such as anxiousness, problems focusing, and late- night study habits in addition to difficulties falling asleep, disrupted sleep patterns, and dependence on naps. Through a quantitative research approach, implementing survey questionnaires, data has been gathered from Grade 12 STEM students at Holy Family Academy High School Department. This study aims to provide insights into the importance of sleep to students, offering recommendations for educators and policymakers to address sleep-related challenges and support students' well-being.
