Title
The Effects of Having a Perceived Homosexual Teacher to the Academic Performances of Students
Abstract
Sex is the structure of an individual's reproductive anatomy wherein gender roles are assigned to. Gender roles are assigned early in life. As children grow, they learn that they are girls or boys and act accordingly. On the other hand, adult gender roles are multifaceted including both personality and behavior characteristics. Boys are expected to be rough, non- emotional, authoritarian and aggressive while girls are expected to be reserved, emotional, lenient and submissive. Knowing each gender role has a great impact to know your gender identity; this is whether you are a homosexual, bisexual or merely a female or male. Back then, people who did not fit in the characteristics of their gender were isolated but others argue that the healthiest individuals should show both strong masculine and strong feminine characteristics. Nonetheless, these issues were left behind but cultures and traditions make a great impact in our society nowadays.
Aside from our gender and evaluation of oneself, the perception and the treatment of other people is also important. However, gender orientation is also vital. Male and female- these are only the two genders we can actually recognize that we can evaluate and identify, at least. There have been no solid determinants that could possibly prove that one is homosexual. With that being said, unless a person admits to him or herself and to the society as well, that he/she is a homosexual, all we can do is assume. If confirming their homosexuality has been really hard, how much more in classifying on how to treat them? The media, a strong mind-setter on or society, dictates that homosexual are excluded in the society. This becomes the foundation of the society on our behavior or interactions with them.
