Factors that Affects Student Academic Motivation
Abstract
Academic motivation is defined by a student's desire regarding academic subjects when the student's competence is judged against a standard performance or excellence. Academic motivation is a broad term incorporating many concepts studied by scholars including self-efficacy, determination, resilience, etc. All of these terms incorporate characteristics related to motivation. While connections were drawn between academic motivation and some of these terms, for this study, the definition of academic motivation will encompass these terms. The researchers have conducted a study regarding the factors affecting the academic motivation of the senior high school students of Holy Family Academy. The study aims to determine the different factors that affect the senior high school students on their academic motivation. This research used a case study as the design for the study. The questionnaire was made and constructed by the researchers. The respondents of our study are 14 coming from senior high students. The findings of the study proved that there are factors that are indeed affecting the students' academic motivation.
