Abstract
Perfectionism is a dangerous state of mind in an imperfect world(Hilyer, 2016). Most people see perfectionism as an advantageous trait to possess because people with it produce the most beautiful and amazing results but sadly people do not see the drawbacks of this mindset. Over the years, there have been many studies done about perfectionism and the consequences are quite dark and unexpected as it is revealed that perfectionism can be the cause of depression, anxiety, suicide, and early death. Amidst our search for our topic, we notice that all the studies and research done were for adults and non were done for adolescents. this research aims to unveil how adolescent perfectionist copes with stress, anxiety, and pressure of their mindset and how it affects them. This is a phenomenological research design that focuses on the experience of the person and how to interpret those experiences. Criterion Sampling Techniques were chosen for this study to handpick the adolescents who showed perfectionistic tendencies and 3 students were chosen per batch from the high school department of Holy Family Academy. Despite their limited amount of experience compared to adults, are adolescent perfectionists able to obtain a positive and healthy lifestyle?
