Abstract
Students nowadays are mandated to access digital media and resources. As technology grows, even teachers can impart their points through these innovations. The use of Microsoft PowerPoint program and other applications are widely utilized in the classrooms but studies suggest that note-taking is a more advisable tool or strategy for teachers to enhance their students' knowledge. However, little is known about the perspective of the students in this matter. This is comparative research that talks about the comparison of student-made notes and teacher-made handouts of Senior High school students in Holy Family Academy. After conducting a poll of the Senior High School students of Holy Family Academy, and interviewing the ten outstanding students of Senior High, overall results show that giving of handouts by teachers is much preferred by students. Despite having advantages and disadvantages, both strategies' usefulness depends on the nature of the subject and the teachers. Teacher-made handouts are said to be more complete, more accurate, and more convenient than student-made notes. But, student-made notes help students recall and understand the lesson because students personalize and write on how they grasp the topic. Despite having skills that can help a student through notetaking, handouts given by teachers emerged on top because of their practicality and it made the lives of students easier.
