Title
Analysis on the Digital Awareness of Digital Natives
Abstract
Youth are transforming our world as digital natives who are tech-savvy young people that have been immersed in technology all their lives imbuing them with technical skills and learning preferences which shows their digital awareness in using it. This digital awareness means that one is able to understand and utilize technology in an increasingly interconnected world (Dr. Reimer, 2017). In Holy Family Academy High School Department, it is observed that most of the students deal with this kind of awareness and from this observation; the current study gives us information on the digital awareness of digital natives. The purpose of the present study is to analyze the digital awareness of digital natives to determine if they possess the needed skills to be considered as a digitally aware digital native and the factors that affect their digital awareness. The study follows a phenomenology method, a qualitative research that focuses on the commonality of a lived experience within a particular group (Creswell, 2013) where researchers did the same. The respondents are 12 high school students of Holy Family Academy. As a result of the data gathering and analysis, the study proved that most of the students are digitally aware; and regardless of age, still most of the students are excelling in digital skills.
