Title
An Exploratory Study on the Perspective and Preference of Senior High School Students of Holy Family Academy on the School Clubs and Organizations in Holy Family Academy
Subject
Student Research
Abstract
Unlike in any other school, Holy Family Academy's clubs and organizations are different from each other in terms of definition but both share a common purpose which is to provide the school's students with the holistic development that the students need. From the start of school year 207 to 2018, Holy Family Academy primarily implemented clubs only for the school's junior high school students while organizations were only for the senior high school students. This caused a discussion among the new batch of senior high school students from the school year 2017 to 2018. To address the students' concerns this research was conducted and it aims to identify and give teachers awareness about the perception and preference of these students on Holy Family Academy's clubs and organizations for the school to fully provide them students with the quality development that they would need. However, because of the reason that Holy Family Academy has its perception of clubs and organizations, there are limited studies that give further insight into the research's topic This research is exploratory mainly because it aims to gain further insight and understanding of the perceptions and preferences of the senior high school students of Holy Family Academy on the school's clubs and organizations. Participants for this research were selected using stratified random and convenience sampling techniques and data was gathered
through interviews and audio recordings that were then transcripted for further and easier analysis. After coding and interpreting the collected data, it was identified that there is an inconsistency in the school's clubs and organizations' provision of development for its students. The participants percept the school's clubs and organizations as advantageous and beneficial for their holistic development and that they prefer the school's organizations over its clubs mainly because they would gradually help in their preparation for college. These findings may be of help to Holy Family Academy's future system of providing holistic development for its students.
