Students can borrow books from the general and reserved sections. Biography books and reserved materials may be borrowed overnight and must be returned by 7:30 AM the next day.
Are there fines for overdue books?
Yes. A fine of ₱5.00 per day (excluding weekends and holidays) is charged for each overdue item.
What if a book is lost or damaged?
Lost or damaged materials must be paid for. Alternatively, the IMC may accept a replacement copy of the same title or another book deemed useful to the library.
What are the penalties for rule violations?
Repeated violations may lead to suspension or forfeiture of IMC privileges, based on recommendations from the IMC Coordinator and the Coordinator of Student Services and Formation.
Who can use the IMC?
The IMC serves:
Enrolled high school students
HFA faculty and administrators
Regular employees
Alumni and visiting users with referral letters
Is an ID required to enter?
Yes. All high school students must present their IMC ID to access the library and its resources. The policy is strictly enforced: No IMC ID, No Entry.
What are the rules for using the IMC?
Maintain silence at all times.
Eating, sleeping, and chatting are prohibited.
Bags and folders must be left outside the library.
Internet use is strictly for research purposes and requires an IMC ID.
What is the Audio-Visual Center (AVC)?
The AVC is part of the IMC and offers audio-visual materials, equipment, and facilities to support instruction. It is located on the 3rd floor of the San Pedro Calungsod Building.
Does the IMC offer digital resources?
Yes. The IMC provides access to e-resources for both students and teachers, including online databases and digital archives.
Does the IMC host events?
Yes. The IMC organizes various activities such as book contests, digital photography challenges, and outreach programs like the “Basa, Bayan, Bukas: Share-a-Book Project” benefiting public schools.
