Title
Study on the Chemical Quality of Various Bottled Drinking Waters
Abstract
Water is a necessity that an individual must drink every day in order to live thus, the research aims to check the chemical components of bottled drinking water in order to know what is the safest and what are the advantages or disadvantages people can get from drinking these various kinds of drinking water. This is an experimental research that made use of the five most prominent bottled drinking water brands in the Philippines specifically Evian, Summit, Absolute, Wilkins, and Aquafina and were tested twice for their Total Dissolved Solids and pH Levels. Results showed that aside from the tap water, Evian was the sample with the most TDS in it and was followed by Summit, Wilkins, Aquafina, and Absolute respectively. Furthermore, it has also been found that Evian and Summit are both alkaline waters and the other three are acidic. Because of these evidences, it can therefore be concluded that bottled mineral waters such as Evian and Summit are alkaline in which can help reduce the chances of diseases like acid reflux and that Absolute, Aquafina, and Wilkins are acidic and on the other hand can trigger some disadvantageous things like absorb foreign elements like mercury for example in the body.
