An Analysis on the Factors that Affect the Spending Behavior of Grade 10 students
Abstract
The youth of today tend to spend more time on social media than actually socializing personally with their families and loved ones. This situation caused the youth in focusing their lives on materialistic things influenced by the social media and the expectations of the society which makes them spend their money impulsively. In Holy Family Academy, the students are not vigilant in their spending habits. The current study aims to determine the factors that affect the students' spending behaviors and to aid in raising awareness on how to properly budget their money on things that they really need. The study follows a phenomenology as a design for this study. It is a response/ behavior on a certain phenomenon. In the present study, the researchers want to identify the spending behavior of grade 10 students to recognize the pattern of financial usage. The respondents are two students per section of the Grade 10 students of HFA. As a result of the data gathering and analysis, the researchers conclude the different factors that influence how Grade 10 students allocate their money in spending as well as their behavior when it comes to their money. These factors are peer influence, personal satisfaction, purchasing power, and prerequisites.
