Pages to Life: Shaping Stories with Creativity and Innovation

 

Objectives: The “Pages to Life: Shaping Stories with Creativity and Innovation” aims to promote creativity throughout the Grade 11 participants. The contestants are expected to use their own resources (old books, magazines, etc.) to create a book sculpture depicting their chosen stories.  

GUIDELINES and MECHANICS:

  1. The contest is open to all bonafide Grade 11 students
  2. There must be three (3) representatives for each class
  3. Materials used in this contest must come from what the class has collected. Materials are (old books, newspapers, magazines, glue, wire, and scissors) using a Glue gun, Styrofoam is not allowed.
  4. Making the sculpture beforehand or having any part of the sculpture premade I strictly prohibited.
  5. The contestants are given 3 hours to finish their work
  6. Each participant is expected to make an explanation of their work within 1-3 sentences maximum of 5 sentences
  7. All works will be displayed in the IMC
  8. The contest will be held on November 27, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the IMC.
  9. The judges’ decision is final and irrevocable

CRITERIA for JUDGING

The criteria for judging will be as follows:

Interpretation and the clarity of the theme to the viewer.

 

Creativity and originality of the depicted theme.

 

Quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme.

 

Overall impression of the art.
