Grade 8 – Book Character Parade
The purpose of the Book Character Parade Contest is to provide an opportunity for students to promote the excitement and love of reading and to show the community our desire to share a healthy, scholastically nurturing, and fun activity for the “dress up” contest. This contest showcases our favorite Book Characters that we enjoy so much.
Guidelines and Mechanics:
- All Grade 8 students are highly encouraged to participate.
- Students will choose their favorite literary (book) character and dress as that character on Friday of December 9, 2022. The costume must represent a character from a book.
- The following school’s dress code must follow when creating a costume:
- Shorts or skirts should be correct length
- Shoulders should be covered.
- No heavy make-up
- Toy weapons are not permitted.
- Face paint and hair paint is permitted if it pertains to the book character.
- Characters should be chosen that aren’t violent or too scary.
- Each section must then select at least 5 of the best costume from their section as a representative for the character and costume judging thereafter.
- Judging will be on December 9, 2022 at the AVC.
- The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.
Criteria for Judging
The criteria for judging will be as follows:
Semblance to the character (Character portrayal, presentations, display, and understanding of moods and emotions of the characters.

There will be three (3) winners of this contest and they will receive the following:
● 1st Prize – P500.00 and an E- Certificate of Recognition
● 2nd Prize – P300.00 and an E- Certificate of Recognition
● 3rd Prize – P200.00 and an E-Certificate of Recognition
