This study investigates the impact of positive reinforcement strategies on the academic performance of Grade 8 students at Holy Family Academy (HFA). The research aims to explore how encouragement and rewards influence the student’s academic performance. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data was collected through surveys and analyzed to discern correlations between positive reinforcement strategies and academic performance. The findings reveal that students perceive verbal praise, tangible rewards, and non-verbal gestures as influential factors in their academic performance, with varying degrees of correlation observed across different subjects. The results show that tangible rewards and verbal praise exhibited a negative correlation with grades in Math, Science, and English. However, non-verbal gestures showed a positive correlation with grades in Science and English but a negative correlation Math. These results highlight the complexity of reinforcement strategies and underscore the importance of tailoring interventions to individual student needs.
