Participants primarily consist of 16-year-old students, with a majority being female, dispersed throughout various sections. The findings highlight the significant role of parental influence in students&#8217; decision-making process, as they strive to meet parental expectations and make them proud. However, students also assert their independence in making the ultimate decision regarding their academic pathway. Moreover, students&#8217; aptitude and interests significantly impact their choice of strands, with a preference for those that complement their abilities and passions. External environmental factors, such as societal impact and demand, also shape students&#8217; decisions. The study emphasizes the critical role of supportive educational environments in guiding students&#8217; choices and the importance of aligning personal aspirations with external influences.
