Math is a basic subject of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand, but students showed poor understanding in math because of ineffective teaching strategies. This study aims to determine the preferred teaching strategies of Senior High School STEM students in learning Mathematics-related subjects in Holy Family Academy. The study employed a quantitative descriptive research design where a structured survey questionnaire was given to 184 students to collect data. The results showed that students preferred activities that fall under the two strategies mentioned – that is modern teaching strategies like group works, presentations, and real-life applications with traditional strategies such as direct instruction, textbook-based learning, and recitations and drills. While the results show that modern teaching strategies got an overall weighted mean of 3.2 which is higher compared to that of the traditional strategies’ 3.11, the statistical analysis showed no significant difference between the two. Hence, it is then recommended that a blended approach in the teaching strategies of teachers is the best approach to help students understand Mathematics better. The findings of this study can serve as useful insight to the field of education in terms of when devising strategies for teaching students in STEM disciplines, thereby nurturing better learning experiences in Mathematics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","format":"standard","class_list":["post-74956","tnc_col_5153_item","type-tnc_col_5153_item","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","entry"],"yoast_head":"\n
