The electrical properties of water make it suitable for harvesting energy through modern models such as hydropower turbines and water wheels. In line with these advancements, triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGS) recently harnessed water to harvest energy in different ways. One such form is a Self-Capacitance Electrode Water-Based Electricity Generator (SCE- WEG). In developing findings, the study aimed to investigate the hypothesis based on the changes in voltage based on the type of water flow and when the length of the upper electrode is increased. The findings exhibited that longer upper electrodes showed a significant increase in voltage production, proving previous studies. Furthermore, water droplets employed a higher peak voltage, but were less consistent than flowing water, which shows consistent but lower overall voltage. Wider exposed surface area for the upper electrode also showed higher results than smaller exposed surface areas.
