This research focuses on developing a thermoelectric generator (TEG)-integrated vest that attempts to convert body heat into electricity. As the need for sustainable energy solutions rises, TEG technology presents promising potential as a backup power source, especially in emergency scenarios or off-grid environments. This study examines the initial functionality of a prototype designed to harness body heat for power generation. Using a quantitative and experimental research design, the study evaluates the vest’s voltage output under varying activity levels. Results show that the vest is capable of generating small amounts of voltage, with output increasing during more vigorous activities. Although it cannot yet power devices directly, prior research has shown that such low-power thermoelectric systems can be developed for emergency or off-grid use (Enescu, 2019).
