This research study aims to examine the possibility and effectiveness of using cassava peels and moringa leaves as a sustainable alternative to poultry feed in Pampanga, Philippines. Livestock production is facing a lot of challenges due to high costs and limited innovation. Therefore, scientists are currently focusing on finding environmentally friendly feed options for poultry. By conducting nutritional analysis and economic viability studies, the aim is to address the challenges in poultry nutrition and promote sustainable practices in the industry. To evaluate the effectiveness of cassava and moringa-based feed for chickens, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design was employed, while prioritizing ethical considerations for the welfare of the chickens throughout the experiment. Using 10% moringa, 25% cassava, 25% moringa, 25% cassava, and commercial chicken feed, the researchers utilized 8 chicks and measured various growth metrics, including height and weight. Results indicated that cassava-based diets could promote growth in mass but not in height, as evidenced by significant differences using ANOVA observed in growth metrics compared to diets containing commercial feeds or moringa powder. It also highlights the significance of acidic substances in improving chicken health, as demonstrated by variations in pH levels among feed components.
