A worrying issue of a declining rate of architects was revealed to be happening in a global scale. This was given emphasis by Khatri (2016) which stated that a survey research retrieved from Equity by Design, an architecture symposium held by American Institute of Architects San Francisco, declared that about one third of architects leave the profession before achieving the four-year mark, and this is worrying because there is also a slow four percent employment growth between 2016 and 2026 for architects, which was stated by the United States’ Bureau of Labor and Statistics. This percentage is lower than any of the employment growth rate of the other professions examined by the agency (PhD Academy, 2016). One factor which may influence job satisfaction is self-efficacy. Moreover, self-efficacy is regarded to be a positive influence on one’s job satisfaction, a factor which encourages one to stay in his chosen career field (Society for Human Resource Management, 2016). Furthermore, self-efficacy holds a vital role in the completion of one’s task, for it is a person’s view of how he can carry out activities handed to him. This perception of one’s self about achieving objectives results to a variation in the level of their performance and productivity. (Bandura, 1986, as cited in Cherian & Jacob, 2013). Aside from this, self-efficacy, being considered as one of the most constructive concepts in modern psychology as it can influence others concepts of an individual including job satisfaction (Bertz et al., 1996, as cited in Cherian & Jacob, 2013). Furthermore, different professions, considering their area of expertise, may consider a heightened level of self-efficacy beneficial in the execution of tasks. This is because a high level of self-efficacy is beneficial to an individual in doing a task, for it leads to the satisfaction of his work.
