This study aims in addressing the lack of personal insights which is seen in other research. It revolves around the perception of students toward cooperative learning since most academic activities are centered on group work. The researchers went through with the study using interviewing two academically excelling, average, and challenged students from the Senior High School STEM strand of Holy Family Academy. After analyzing the gathered data through thematic analysis, it was found that: (1) the number of members in a group is a factor to consider in doing group works. (2) The distribution of tasks plays a vital role in performing the task since it can decide the outcome of the activity. (3) Cooperative learning motivates the students to give their best in doing the task assigned. (4) Cooperative learning is an effective and efficient way of grouping since it has many advantages for the members, one of which is the emergence of positive interdependence in the group. With the gathered data, (1) the type of groupings should be taken into account since it is a major factor that can affect the overall outcome of the group. (2) The number of freeloaders in a cooperative learning group is reduced because they are aware of their responsibilities.
