This research studies the relationship between parental absence and the academic performance of a child; who is left without parents and how these individuals overcome their problems in their academic performance without their parents and how the changes will affect the way they study in the school, the ones who are experiencing parental absence. This research also aims to know how many students suffer from parental absence and what their actions are. Education is very important to the life of all the children in the Philippines, through this education they can be developed and help them to be successful individuals in the future.
\n2.2 million Filipinos are working abroad and there are nine million children who are left behind. The tool that will be used in the research is Questionnaires. These questionnaires will help the researchers to know if the students who are experiencing parental absence will perform good or bad in the school and these questionnaires will lead the researchers in building the conclusion. The researchers collected the names of the students who are their parents are working outside the country. After the collection of names, the researchers used the formula to know how many participants will be used.
\nThe participants are 145 students from different sections of the school of Holy Family Academy who answered the questions about how well they are doing in their academic performances without their parents and does it affect their academic performance in the school, these are students who are their parents are working abroad.
\nAfter the students answered the questionnaires are returned and the researchers started to conclude and gather data. Based on the answers that are written in every questionnaire, there is a slight effect on the academic performance of the child if their parents are working abroad.
