The education of the Philippines shifted from the old basic education system to the new education system which is the K-12 program that was implemented in the country in the year 2013 but began in the year 2016. Senior High School offers the students an opportunity to choose a specialization based on aptitude, interest, and school capacity.
\nSince the new education was recently adopted in the country, there are Filipinos who disagree with the K-12 system and claim that it would just be a waste of time and money. The current study aims to discover the views of the Senior High School students about the K-12 curriculum. the participants of the research are the Senior High School students of Holy Family Academy High School. The study follows phenomenology as the design for this study, for the researchers to be able to determine the “perception, thought, memory, imagination, emotion, desire, the volition of bodily awareness, embodied action, social and linguistic activity of the students”. (Smith, 2018) As a result of the data gathering, it confirms that the K-12 system is helpful for most students because it gives them time for preparation, proper skills, more opportunities, and expectations for college. But for some, some claim that the K-12 system is not sufficient enough and requires improvements since it is just recently implemented.
