The study is about the impact of sleep deprivation on a high school student. It is a research study conducted to learn what are the common reason and effects of lack of sleep on a high school student. This research is a qualitative research design and the participants were chosen through the non-probability purposive sampling method. The study involves five participants of which all of whom experienced or still experiencing being sleep-deprived. The answer was acquired through the use of a questionnaire wherein the participants were asked to write their responses.
\nThe research studied how sleep deprivation affects the academic performance of a student. The researchers’ findings showed that the respondents tend to procrastinate at times; this is why they start and finish late at night. Also, they’ve also learned that it really affects their performance at school depending if they got sufficient or insufficient sleep – wherein it affects their focus and memory. Overall, this research shows that there are more disadvantages than advantages to having a lack of sleep.
